takeaway:
it appears i inordinately preferred one-word titled books in 2018, at least for the first half of the year. going forward, i'm going to maybe try to care less about reading a lot of books and focus on reading more deeply, with greater liberality re time spent per [whatever], engaging with histories and/or backgrounds that go along with works, in addition to the works themselves. i don't care. thanks. i'm going to mexico in a few weeks. i know the world will go away, and people will go away, and i will go away from people, and i will go away from the world. so i feel more interested in biographies, journals, letters than i have been in the past. it's okay if i start books and don't finish them. it's okay if i disappear.
