the snow has been lost
under a layer of fog
on the sole road i drive
tree trunk turning white
fading spot on my palm
orange horse piss and gray
nauseous pond thick with geese
brakes slip then relock
the cow friends are gone
just a soup of wet hay
where are the hogs eating mushrooms
burr sloughed ewes take their place
